On 21st June 2022, during the Dialogue Session conducted by The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) in Putrajaya, PPATSM’s representatives were able to meet up with the honorable Minister, YB Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi together with officers from Unit Metrology Sah, on the understanding that Malaysia is embarking the implementation of Pattern Approval for Non-Automatic Weighing Instrument after some delays.

The Minister acknowledged the Association as its official partner and provided consent to use the Ministry’s logo on association website.

The Minister also expressed his gratitude that majority of the weighing industry companies including the Association’s members are showing good support to the Ministry and National Metrology Institute of Malaysia (NMIM), to enhance the integrity of weighing instrument usage in the country. YB Dato Sri also highlighted that the Ministry understands there is also minority that objected on the new implementation including making press conference, however with the strong support from the Association, the Ministry hoped to address the issue more effectively in the near future.
