MALAYSIAN LICENSED VERIFICATION FIRMS REJECTED INCOMPLIANCE 40KG PRICING SCALE

The Association acts as the communication channel to work closely not only with the Government authorities, but also to ensure members’ feedback and complaints are well taken care off especially one that affects the businesses of the local.

One of the issues arise when a type of instrument with NAWI CLASS II were verified by the licensed company for which contradicted with the current provision in law.

Such electronic pricing scales sold at only RM55.65 by online platform seller deemed to be used in legal transaction were extremely below market price which resulted in drop of businesses in the licensed companies.

Upon further investigation, such item with the maximum capacity of 40kg and division of 2g was considered a “High Accuracy Class II ” which is equivalent to “20 000 Number of Verification Scale Intervals” where verification procedures required minimum Class F2 standard weights in order to pass verification.

Both verifications firms after investigation had immediately issued memo to all its 70 branches nationwide to cease verification of such items.
