Pattern Approval Indefinite Delay
Official letter from KPDNHEP has been received by PPATSM, cancelling all previous administrative letters issued from the Ministry on 21/11/2018, 11/12/2019, 06/01/2021 and 21/05/2021. The implementation and enforcement are further delayed to a date that will be announced in the future.
PPATSM Chairman, Vice Chairmen and Secretaries have met NMIM on 9 Nov with Dr. Osman, Ts. Suliana, Pn. Irene and Pn Nik. Dr. Osman informed that NMIM as custodian in the Country, they would seek further clarification with KPDNHEP whether to continue the process of application by industry companies and what should be done to approved NAWI since 2019. PPATSM requested NMIM to consider a suspension to all approved companies considering the approvals were 1st issued in 2019, and it is now further delayed by the authority.
Dr. Osman reiterated that Pattern Approval is very important in the country to ensure no sub-standard weighing products are used in the country as they are non-compliance with the international legal metrology including ASEAN guideline, which will need to be enforced sooner or later in Malaysia.
More information would be shared during upcoming PPATSM seminar on 9th December in NMIM auditorium, all Members and industry players are encouraged to register with the committees to attend the event to get first-hand information from the event.
